Glaucoma involves damage to the optic nerve that goes from the eye to the brain allowing us to see. Glaucoma sometimes is associated with a high eye pressure.

There are a number of medications on the market and we can find the correct one for relief of your symptoms. The cornea is the window of the eye and if diseased, it often can cause decreased vision and discomfort. A complete exam can determine if a corneal problem exists.

Regular pediatric eye exams (ages 3+) play an important role in a child's visual development and academic success. Comprehensive evaluations help detect vision problems early, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, eye teaming issues, and amblyopia (lazy eye), allowing for timely treatment and healthier vision as your child grows.

This can sometimes be a sign of an impending retinal detachment and an examination is important to rule out problems that may require surgical attention.

The cornea often becomes scratched by foreign material/objects that need careful, delicate removal. This can become a long-term problem and will require care, especially because the cornea that has been damaged can develop a corneal infection or ulcer.

People between ages 65 and 80 can develop an aging condition in their central vision called macular degeneration. There is no known cure or prevention for this at this time, but research promises breakthroughs in the not too distant future.
